Fotona Laser Hair Removal:

Fotona’s laser hair removal laser uses high-performance Nd:YAG laser systems with FRAC3® technology, introducing new standards of efficiency in providing safe and effective hair reduction – using an innovative system that effectively targets hair follicles with a combination of selective and homogenous photothermolysis. This treatment is effective for both facial and body hair.

Safe for all skin types. We typically recommend 6+ sessions of laser hair removal for best results. Maintenance sessions may also be required.

The success of laser hair removal treatments depends largely on a patient’s skin and hair type, as well as the skills and treatment insight of the practitioner. Most patients can expect a significant reduction in unwanted hair, and any future hair growth will usually be thinner and lighter, and thus much less pronounced than before. Depending on the size of the treatment area, between three to five sessions, four to eight weeks apart will lead to a significant aesthetic and clinical result.

Fotona Laser Hair Removal Treatment Notes:

Please arrive with the treatment area shaven, as well as no jewellery or self tanner on the area. This treatment is not suitable if you are taking photosensitive medications such as Isotretinoin, Roaccutane, or Doxycycline. After treatment please avoid direct sun exposure on the treatment area for a least 1-2 weeks and avoid water contact for at least 6 hours following treatment. We would also advise to avoid saunas, swimming pools and spas for 48 hours post treatment.

How Does it Work?

Fotona laser hair removal utilises advanced laser technology to target hair follicles, disrupting their growth cycle and inhibiting future hair regrowth. The process involves emitting highly concentrated beams of light into the skin, which are absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicles. This absorption generates heat, which damages the follicles and impairs their ability to produce new hair.

Fotona lasers are designed with specific wavelengths and pulse durations to effectively target hair follicles while minimising damage to the surrounding skin. The treatment is typically performed in multiple sessions, spaced several weeks apart, to target hair follicles in various stages of growth. Over time, patients can expect a significant reduction in hair growth in the treated area, resulting in smoother, hair-free skin

A cooling fan is used during treatment for increased patient comfort.
